I really don’t know how to say this but its got me thinking with 9-11 and how some times people talk about us New Yorkers as being rude. Rude people are everywhere, no matter where you go your going to run into one or two massive pricks that make you want to punch them in the throat. That is going to happen every where but to have special new reports about New Yorkers being voted the rudest people on earth kinda grinds me a little.
I am not saying this happen recently but like i said earlier with 9-11 being today I cant help but think about how some people say that about us, even before 9-11 I being a NY-er don’t see us being the rude ones. Its the tourist that are rude. I will give you a great example and one of the reason why many real NY-er tend to avoid Times Square or only go there when they need to.
O.k. I had to go to Times Square to go to Dallas B.B.Q. (a kinda cheap places to eat but good food) and I was 3 blocks down in Bryant Park.(I love the place always go there to chill and have a moment for myself) When i was though going up the blocks to get to B.B.Q.s, I kept dealing with people stopping and walking, stopping and walking. This wasn’t so bad cause i was able to get around most but then when I hit Times Square, I keep running into living freaking road blocks. In the middle of the side walk, then the corner making me miss the light and in some cases in the middle of the freaking street during the crossing. Now you got to be wondering why are these people stopping in the middle of a busy street? simple answer taking photos of the cars while they are at a red light ignoring the possibility of a car turning into the street they are now blocking.
Another story happened again in Times Square just cutting though it again to walk with friends to the subway, this guy pushes my friend out of the way rudely and tell her to watch where she is going. I snapped at him this guy. I saw he was from out of town and yelling at us who were walking normally and telling us to get out of his way. I could tell he was from out of town mainly cause his he was a white guy and didn’t have one of the many common nyc accents. I really wanted to know who the fcuk he though he was to act like that to us when we never seen him or bumped into him before. So am yelling at him while my friends where telling me to relax and when he dont look back and his friends try to rush him away.
Look we NYC-er aren’t perfect and were the first to tell you that but really to still say were the top pricks in the world is wrong. What we are though is a group a people that wont stand for you bullsh*t and we will call you on it right to your ungrateful face in front of everyone. and that is just because we don’t have time for it and don’t like being treated like we should be happy your in our city. Fcuk you and the smug horse you road on. That is just how we are as people, rude hardly we just don’t have time for it
